  • Hailie Hay, a South Lake Tahoe-based indie singer/songwriter, has been actively perfecting the art of musical resonance and storytelling for the last five years in cities across the United States. From Concord, California, originally, Hailie began playing music in high school, playing in local bands and in local venues in Contra Costa county. After studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and returning home to California, Hailie played many venues across the state. • Jeff Connor grew up in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. The son of a piano/flutist mother and an audiophile father, Jeff started playing piano at age fourteen and moved into guitar a year later. He did have some formal training on guitar…he was kicked out of his only guitar lesson after about fifteen minutes and was taken under the musical wing of his brother. Through his father and brother, Jeff was immersed in the works of Bob Dylan and Lou Reed and learned every song available to him by the iconic singer/songwriters. After attending Cornell in Ithaca, Jeff found a cozy home in his Ford Ranger and earned a living busking all over the country. He eventually landed in Lake Tahoe, California one Winter, and while reconnecting with his childhood passion of ski racing, met John Munroe…

  • Kristian moved from the White Mountains of New Hampshire to Tahoe in 2015 and has since established himself in Tahoe’s local live music scene.  This co-founder of Black Oaks has been playing guitar since childhood and has been influenced by his father’s musical taste and talents. Inspired by groups like The Devil Makes Three, The Grateful Dead, and Dispatch, he has been writing music since his middle school years.  Kristian’s choice of genres to cover includes blues, rock, folk, and bluegrass. His original music is dynamic but centers around a newgrass rock theme. Kristian loves all that Tahoe has to offer and is energized by the eclectic family of local musicians in this mountain town.  He partnered with Sean Hodge to continue the signature sound of Black Oaks Music.

Especially likes playing solo acoustic gigs to draw upon a massive collection of songs picked up after years playing lead guitar on both kinds of music, country and rock in Park City Utah. Freddie can also hold down a mean bass line, when needed. Most memorable moment was playing guitar when Eric Clapton was in the audience back in 1989 at Cisero's in Park City. After a year settling down in Tahoe area, jamming at Casey's he's ready to be your rock and roll doctor!
